Donating Funds

Together,
we save dogs’ lives.

With generous financial contributions, we are able to deliver life-saving products faster and improve quality control measures. Donations also help us to meet our educational initiatives. This can include research grants to further transfusion medicine and support the veterinary community.

We are also able to continue providing education as well as research, development, and improvement of life-saving products.

Leave Your Legacy

Here at the Canadian Animal Blood Bank, we believe that dogs are family members and when they’re sick, we understand the stress that can put on a family. We do everything we can to make sure that dogs can live long and healthy lives. By leaving a legacy, you can help us to save dogs’ lives well into the future.

What is Legacy Giving?

Legacy giving is also called planned giving. Just like the name says you can continue save dog lives long into the future by leaving a charitable gift to the CABB, a registered charity, in your will. There are several ways to leave a gift for the CABB in your will. You can leave cash, a piece of property, or a percentage of your estate. Talk to your lawyer or financial advisor about ways to leave your legacy.

Why leave a legacy gift?

There are several great reasons to leave a legacy gift – there are tax incentives created by the Canadian government to engage Canadians to help charities, you will leave a legacy of generosity that will help dogs and their caregivers for years to come, you can help inspire others to join the pack and help the cause, and you will be supporting young veterinary professionals in learning about ways to use blood products to save dogs’ lives.

What information will your lawyer or financial advisor need?

Your lawyer or financial advisor will need the following information for the purpose of a gift in your will.

Our legal name:
Canadian Animal Blood Bank Inc.
AB71–2055 Notre Dame Avenue
Winnipeg, MB R3H 0J9

Charitable registration number: 793845678RR0001

A Note from the Canadian Animal Blood Bank Board

We are emerging from two difficult years. As with many organizations, COVID19 has restricted our ability to stage blood donor clinics and supply the blood products badly needed by veterinarians to take care of their patients. We owe gratitude to our staff who have battled through these times to keep our collections and product delivery chains open if somewhat throttled back in volume. Thanks also go to the animal caregivers who have exceeded our expectations in terms of volunteering their pets to attend donor clinics throughout the pandemic. Your commitment has benefited countless animals and their families. Your support energizes Canadian Animal Blood Bank staff and volunteers.

The blood bank is growing to be a dependable supplier of blood products across the country. We have recently welcomed new Regional Managers in British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario to broaden our blood collection capabilities. What the CABB is noticing is that more emergency and specialty veterinary practices are being established where the need for blood products is ever increasing. This growth is only made possible by the animal caregivers and dogs who volunteer. Through you, we are able to ensure a higher level of veterinary patient care exists and we reiterate a heartfelt thank you.
