A Note from the Canadian Animal Blood Bank Board
We are emerging from two difficult years. As with many organizations, COVID19 has restricted our ability to stage blood donor clinics and supply the blood products badly needed by veterinarians to take care of their patients. We owe gratitude to our staff who have battled through these times to keep our collections and product delivery chains open if somewhat throttled back in volume. Thanks also go to the animal caregivers who have exceeded our expectations in terms of volunteering their pets to attend donor clinics throughout the pandemic. Your commitment has benefited countless animals and their families. Your support energizes Canadian Animal Blood Bank staff and volunteers.
The blood bank is growing to be a dependable supplier of blood products across the country. We have recently welcomed new Regional Managers in British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario to broaden our blood collection capabilities. What the CABB is noticing is that more emergency and specialty veterinary practices are being established where the need for blood products is ever increasing. This growth is only made possible by the animal caregivers and dogs who volunteer. Through you, we are able to ensure a higher level of veterinary patient care exists and we reiterate a heartfelt thank you.
